Blood transfusion safety protocols provided by transfusion medicine undergo strict testing that helps decrease potential transmission of infections and hemolytic effects. Researchers evaluated a modified cross-matching technique empty of both AHG and bovine serum to study its effectiveness against immediate spin cross match procedures.
Aim
The aim of this study to find the cross machining method is a safe for pre-transfusion testing when compared to the Anti human globulin (AHG),bovine procedure, to simplify complicated procedures of a principles blood cross-matching test and the advantages of excluding the traditional AHG, bovine cross-match, encompass a reduction in workload, lowered expenses for reagents and time savings. This method which anyone can easily execute.
Material and Method
The study was conducted over seven years at two medical centers in Iran and Iraq, involving 31240 participants who underwent two types of blood cross-matching methods one with AHG, bovine serum and another without it.
Result
The study found a 100% safety between the two testing methods, with all detected antibodies correlating with potential blood incompatibilities, suggesting that omitting AHG and bovine serum (till now use in Iran and Iraq blood cross matching procedure) does not compromise test effectiveness.
Conclusion
This research illustrated that the method and procedure yielded the same result comparable to AHG and bovine serum, attained an anticipated safety level of 100%, can be safe, efficient, cheap, and beneficial to the transfusion service in Iran and Iraq blood bank.
Keywords:Blood Transfusion, Blood Cross-match, AHG and bovine serum, spin cross match.
